Artemij Sitenkov is ready for McVeigh at Cage Contender V 11 Jul 2010 MMA Hit Pit caught up with the very talented Artemij Sitenkov and asked him a few questions before his fight with Paul McVeigh in Dublin on 24th July.

You are fighting Paul McVeigh in Dublin on 24th July, for what has been described as the biggest fight in Europe for a long time, how excited are you?

It is a honor for me to participate in this so called biggest fight in Europe, but from a fighters point of view it is a standard fight, 2 men going into a cage with the same rules as always, with the same intention to win over their opponent.

How have you prepared for this fight against Paul?

I feel prepared to fight, both physically and mentally.

What can we expect from you in this fight?

I have some scenarios for this fight but will not reveal them. sorry :)

Your last fight in Europe was against James Doolan and you only took 34 seconds to submit him, tell us about that.

Yeah basically I was lucky, I saw opportunity and took a chance, James was trying to resist but in fact he helped me with trying to resist so hard.

What motivates you to fight?

It is my hobby, I have done it since I was a child, it keeps me feeling alive, feeling that I am a personality.

Who would you most like to fight if you were given the opportunity?

There is no particular person I would like to fight with, well maybe it would be curious to fight Bruce Lee with MMA rules, he probably weighted approximately the same :)

How far do you think the sport has developed in Europe in recent years?

MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and it has changed since the beginning, now it is not enough to be good at something, you have to be universal, I mean ground fighting, stand up, takedowns etc.

Anyone you want to give a shout out to?

Thanks to all who supports me you make me stronger, and also thanks to all those who will cheer for my opponent, you make me more motivated.
