Auld enemies about to rock the world of MMA 02 Jul 2010 Edinburgh will see a huge clash with the ‘Auld enemies’ England vs Scotland settling grudges in MMA on Saturday 18th September 2010.

Nothing like this has happened before with promoter Barry Ahmed and former Cage Rage champion and UFC fighter Ian ‘the machine’ Freeman putting together the ‘Kudegra Championship Fighting’ challenge featuring the best British-based talent.

To give the UK’s MMA scene an adrenalin shot Ian Freeman is launching Kudegra with a bill of England’s and Scotland’s top fighters, plus the first women’s England vs Scotland fight with Simona Soukupova (Eng) and tbc (Scot).

“Kudegra’s aim is to raise the game of Britain’s MMA fighters by giving them the chance to compete for a £30,000 four fight contract in each of three weight classes: lightweight (under 77kg), middleweight (77kg to under 93kg) and heavyweight (93kg +). Making a living here can be very tough and we want the winners to be in a position to then go on and fight the best in Europe and the rest of the world and beat them,” said Ian Freeman.

The shows will have the rush, buzz and excitement of established productions produced by our American cousins, but with the twist of British creativity, determination and humour. The ring and show sets are being designed and produced by a company that has staged several shows in the UK and Ireland for WWE.

Kudegra will be aired via the internet, shot using 2 fixed cameras and 3 ringside cameras, with a crane camera used for travelling audience shots, and a behind-the-scenes camera used for dressing-room interviews. A sound engineer will mix the sound correctly, and an experienced action editor will mix the camera shots live. The team handling this key element regularly shoot live sports for Sky TV.

The championship will rotate from Meadowbank Sports Centre, to Hull Ice Arena (Oct 9), on to Bolton Arena (Nov 20) and back to Meadowbank Sports Centre (Dec 11). Kudegra MMA will result in the finalists in each weight division meeting to contest a commemorative trophy and win the £30,000 four fight contract.

Tickets for the MMA live events are priced from £15 and can be bought on-line from www.ticketable.com/kudegra  or by calling 0191 415 7488.
