'Denzil' Thomas Gets Big Opportunity 16 Mar 2010
By Dean Parr

Today, Ian Dean of Warrior Promotions informed MMA Hit Pit that Rhondda Valley's Daniel 'Denzil' Thomas has received a massive chance to impress on the European stage, as he will take on Kenneth Rosfort at Galla 13 in Copenhagen, Denmark on 17th April.

Rosfort (13-2) is no joke. He holds wins over recent Shine Fights acquisition Jeff Lawson, Sengoku competitor Diego Gonzalez and Franco de Leonardis, who fought for a Cage Warriors World Lightweight Title and participated in the M1 Challenge. Arguably even more worrying is the fact his only defeats have come to Dennis Siver and Anthony Njokuani, who are now in the UFC and WEC respectively. Furthermore, Thomas will have to travel to the home country of Rosfort, meaning this is by no means going to be a rollover for the Welshman, who has won his last seven.

In spite of the challenges that lie ahead though, Ian is confident his man can pull through. "We leapt at the opportunity to take this fight against Rosfort once the Fightergalla promoter Otto Kundsen offered it to us," revealed Dean. "Rosfort KOed the TUF 9 veteran Jeff Lawson recently, and we feel this win could be the breakthrough fight 'Denzil' needs. We'll still be fighting at Cage Wars too, but this was too good an opportunity to pass up, and we are confident of Denzil walking away with a win."

He continued, "Rosfort is a dangerous striker and a huge lightweight. 'Denzil' goes in as the underdog, but there is no way Rosfort has fought anyone with the spirit of Denz, and I see him grinding out a ground 'n' pound win late on. We know it's a tough fight, but unlike some, Denz doesn't shy away from big fights. He's been begging me for a big name for months now. He wants to fight on big show, and sometimes to get on big shows you have got to take risks. I wouldn't put him in it if I didn't think he could win."

This is an exciting opportunity for the popular Dogs of War fighter. Only time will tell if he takes it with both hands, but a win here could propel him to potentially huge fights down the line.
