Sarah Moras Interview 16 Mar 2010 Sarah Moras is a 21 year old from British Columbia, Canada. She is currently living and training in sunny Manchester England with the UK's top Female MMA star Rosi Sexton. Sarah is coming off a victory at KAYO-MMA against Clarrissa Thompson which she won by armbar in round 2.

MMA Hit Pit caught up with Sarah to ask a few questions.

So what’s it like training with Rosi?

I don't know if it’s so much called "training with her" as it is called "getting my ass kicked by her", but either way you want to look at it, it's great. I've come so far since I've been out here, and I can't wait to see how much more I improve. The training that I do with her is so much more intense and makes so much more sense than what I was doing before. I'm really lucky I got this opportunity.

What motivates you to fight?

I think there's a lot of things that motivate me to fight, but when it finally comes down to the time to fight, my main focus is on the fact that I can eat again as soon as I'm done. I have two passions in life and they are fighting and food. Fighting makes me choose which one I like more, although it is a close call between the two, I do choose fighting. I just think about all the food that I can't eat in order to make weight, and put the blame on my opponent, and then I'm ready to smash her.

My last fight I cut 15lbs and I was a fat ass when I started training for it, I had 6 weeks off training because of a leg injury so making weight was a bigger achievement for me than the actual fight.

Are there any fights out there that interest you?

I'd like to fight Meisha Tate, and eventually work my way up to Sarah Kaufman.

If you could fight anywhere in the world where would it be?

I'd probably just say the US, because they have the best selection of people in my weight class. I think it would be cool to fight in Japan one day, but I don't know how many Japanese women there are my size.

What do you think of UK MMA?

I think the MMA scene here is great. People seem to work a lot harder here than back home, and take it a lot more serious. I also have pretty sweet connections here because of Rosi, so it does make it kind of hard to compare it to back home. But the fact that there’s fight shows on every weekend is greats, and it’s not like that at all back in Canada.

What do you hope to achieve by the end of 2010?

I'd like to have my first pro fight, and I've had a goal for a while to knock someone out, so hopefully that will happen this year also.

Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years  time?

In 5-10 years I hope to still be doing what I'm doing, hopefully get into teaching and maybe getting my own gym.

Thanks Sarah, you want to give any shout outs?

I'd like to thank Rosi Sexton for all she has done for me and to Gaz Pilot for helping me prepare for my last fight and my sponsors FightShop.com
